[ Michael Knöfler ]

Michael Knöfler (*1989 in Halle/Saale) is a director, actor and producer. ​Michael's educational foundation was established at the prestigious Folkwang University of Fine Arts in Essen/Bochum, where he honed his craft. His insatiable passion for filmmaking and production led him to work with an array of clients, consistently delivering top-tier video content of the highest quality.

 

Even before graduating from high school, Michael began honing his skills through internships at esteemed institutions like MDR (TV Channel) in Leipzig and BILD (News Magazine) in Magdeburg. His commitment to excellence and active involvement in politics earned him a position as a member of the Saxony-Anhalt State School Council in 2007/2008.

After multiple stays abroad in Ecuador, Benin, South Africa, among others, he gained further experience as an assistant director of various productions of the North Harz City Theater in 2009-2010. From 2010-2012 he worked as a casting director at the Casting Company Berlin.

 

During his studies (2012-2016) he took part in the Folkwang Physical Theater Festival 2013, was invited to the Art-Festival „Extraschicht Essen“ with his own production, and played at the LAB Festival 2014.

He was also part of various film projects in cooperation with the Film-University Dortmund, Art Academy Düsseldorf and the Institute for Music and Media, Düsseldorf.

In 2014 he participated in the theater collage "14/18 - The World on Fire" (director: Johannes Klaus/Adolf Winkelmann), which was performed in the coking plant of the Zollverein colliery as well as in Ramallah, Jenin and Bethlehem.

In 2015 he was part of the "Grauland" ensemble, Laura Natalie Junghann's director's diploma. With this piece he toured through Stuttgart, Cologne, Frankfurt Bochum, Essen in 2016 and also performed with "Grauland" in the Thalia Theater, Hamburg, at the "Körber Studio Junge Regie".

For his own Artist Diploma project, he shot a short film adaptation of the Chekhov classic "3 Sisters" together with Andreas Rother & Benjamin Werner.

 

From 2016 - 2017 Michael Knöfler worked as a freelance director and actor. From June 2017 to November 2020, Michael Knöfler staged the video content for Masterplan.com as permanent producer and creative director. Parallel to his work at Masterplan, he realized numerous commissioned works and own projects such as music videos, social media clips, image clips and short films for multiple clients. In addition, Michael Knöfler stood in front of the camera for various TV productions and web productions.

 

From January 2021 to August 2021, Michael worked freelance for clients such as Tamaris Fashion (on behalf of the start-up "FJUL"), Canon Medical Systems, the AOK-Insurence (on behalf of the agency "Looping Group GmbH") and realized four other music video productions for a wide variety of musicians from Hamburg.

 

Since August 2021, Michael Knöfler has been working as a permanent creative producer (conception, production, director, post-production-leader, editor, customer service) at the production company „Perspektive Media GmbH“, Hamburg. On behalf of Perspektive Media, Michael was allowed to work for clients such as Tchibo Coffee Service (advertising), Hamburg Water, Volksbank (advertising), Hermes Germany (advertising), Gasnetz Hamburg, Hamburg Airport, Hamburg Marketing, McDonalds  and many more. In 2023 Michael won the “German price of online communication” in the category “Film & Video”.
